Jerry Popiel (pronounced POPE-iel) is a singer/songwriter, guitarist, recording engineer, mandolinist, bassist, keyboardist and percussionist.   He performs primarily as an acoustic guitarist/singer and is also a member of the indie rock band Birdhouse Gourds.

He has performed as opening act for musicians such as Paul Reiser, Leon Russell, The Strawbs, Sister Hazel, The Fixx, Naked Eyes, Shawn Mullins, Clumsy Lovers, Mindy Smith, Ambrosia and Marty Willson-Piper (The Church) and as Blossom Music Center VIP club entertainment before James Taylor, The Who, Bonnie Raitt, Counting Crows, Matchbox 20, Dierks Bentley, Jimmy Buffett, Steely Dan, Doobie Brothers, Barenaked Ladies, Hootie and the Blowfish, Peter Frampton and Zac Brown Band.  He is also a repeat performer for Viking Cruise lines.

Jerry appeared in the 2016 Fox Searchlight film "A Bigger Splash" with Ralph Fiennes, Tilda Swinton and Dakota Johnson.   He appeared as himself in Eric Shiveley's award-winning documentary "Everyone But You" and in several community theater productions and has been featured on Cleveland's "Crooked River Groove" and "Words and Music" TV shows.

"Off duty," Jerry is also a search and rescue specialist, sourdough bread baker, Appalachian Trail section hiker and trail runner.
